Description:
The course begins with a study of the remaining species of counterpoint. It then continues with the study of traditional diatonic harmony begun in the previous semester with a greater emphasis on the phrase model. The course will conclude with analysis of musical excerpts that exemplify binary form, ternary form, and variation technique. Prerequisites: 'C' or better in MUSC 1110 OR AP Music Theory Exam score of 5
