Course explores in depth the techniques of Butoh, an abstract movement form originated in Japan. Focus will be on the approaches of Tatsumi Hijikata and Kazuo Ohno, the two primary founders of Butoh. Work will focus on the investigation of impulse and energy through the mind/body structure of Butoh. Prerequisites: "C" or better in THEA 3300 OR Instructor Consent.
