SP ED 5442 - Advanced Braille Codes

Description:
This course will enable students to support the instruction of mathematics skills for students with visual impairments. Students will be taught the basics on transcription of advanced braille codes, including music, foreign language, chemistry, computer braille, Unified English Braille (UEB) math code, and the Nemeth Braille Code of Mathematics, and will be introduced to techniques for teaching skills in each code. This course will also include basic instruction in using the abacus and technology tools used to create braille and tactile materials in addition to other assistive technologies use for instruction in math and science. Prerequisites: SP ED 5410 and SP ED 5441.
