Explores contemporary issues and complex healthcare challenges such as the nursing shortage, health literacy, healthcare disparities, patient and nurse safety, advocacy, end-of-life, reality shock, resiliency, and self-care. Promotes nursing's involvement in the policy-making processes. Assignments include group projects, presentations, debates, AI prompt engineering, results analysis/integration, discussion boards, and self-reflection learning activities. This course requires a Differential Tuition Rate which is an additional fee of $79 charged per credit hour. **COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES (CLOs) At the successful conclusion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Apply scholarly evidence in promoting person-centered care. 2. Evaluate the nurse's role in delivering safe, quality care. 3. Collaborate using communication strategies to support patient and healthcare advocacy. 4. Organize a plan to address healthcare disparities and resilience. 5. Critique professional nursing identity of self and peers. Prerequisites: NURS 4010, NURS 4300 (Grade C or higher). FA, SP
