Description:
Photo Studio as Conceptual Practice introduces students to large-format 4x5 photography and on-location lighting, along with methods and ideas for creating images. The course aims to provide students with hands-on experience and understanding of these techniques, in addition to developing their photographic practice. Both film and digital capture will be used to complete coursework. Contemporary issues, concepts, and theory are explored through image-making, readings, visual research and discussion, and practical visual problem-solving exercises. Students will have access to 4x5 view cameras and lighting equipment throughout the course.
