This course focuses on modern physic topics such as quantum mechanics, atomic physics, nuclear physics, thermodynamics, and statistical mechanics. Such topics are applicable for electrical and computer engineers to understand practical applications such as laser technology, solid-state electronic components along with limitations for semiconductor and superconductor materials in addition to limitations to computing. Prerequisites: 'C-' or better in (PHYS 2220 OR AP Physics C E&M score of 4+) AND (MATH 1220 OR MATH 1250 OR MATH 1320 OR AP Calculus BC score of 4+) Corequisites: (MATH 1260 OR MATH 1321 OR MATH 2210 OR MATH 3140) AND Not on ECE Monitoring Group
