Fulfills a program elective for all biology majors, especially useful for students interested in managing natural resources. Survey of common field work methods, such as vegetation surveys, aquatic assessments, and population modeling. Also includes safety assessments, permitting, and other required protocols. Course Fee Required. **COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES (CLOs) At the successful conclusion of this course, students will be able to: 1) Design and implement a successful research project utilizing field techniques. 2) Assess personnel safety, legality, and likelihood of success for field-based projects. 3) Describe abiotic and biotic interactions that inform biodiversity in a given region. 4) Describe anthropogenic impacts in a given regions 5) Develop press release, social media content, and other ways to showcase their work, while also understanding how to critically assess other output for pseudoscience. Prerequisites: BIOL 1625 (Grade C- or higher). FA
