This course offers students the opportunity to develop advanced skills in assessment and diagnosis within the practice of marriage and family therapy. With a strong focus on experiential learning and real-world application, students will practice recognizing and responding to the kinds of challenges they are most likely to encounter in practicum and professional practice. The course emphasizes a whole-person approach to mental health that considers biological, psychological, and social influences, while also training students to use diagnostic guides and assessment tools effectively. Students will be encouraged to integrate these methods with systemic perspectives, preparing them to work confidently and compassionately with individuals, couples, and families.
