This Pre-Practicum course prepares MFT students to develop foundational knowledge and skills essential for clinical practice. Students will engage in observation of therapy sessions, participate in team discussions, and learn about clinical documentation, ethical standards, and professional responsibilities within the MFT Center. Emphasis is placed on understanding systemic dynamics, multicultural considerations, developmental and contextual factors, and the integration of theory into practice. Through guided observation, reflective exercises, and supervised activities, students will begin to cultivate self-awareness, ethical reasoning, and readiness for subsequent practicum experiences. The course aligns with accreditation requirements and supports the development of competencies necessary for professional practice and licensure in Utah.
