Practicum builds on students' initial clinical experiences by advancing therapeutic competencies in working with individuals, couples, and families at the SUU MFT Clinic. The course emphasizes the integration of systemic theories with increasingly complex clinical cases, refined use of therapeutic techniques, advanced documentation, ethical decision-making, and cultural responsiveness. Students will strengthen their ability to manage multi-session treatment, address therapeutic ruptures, and apply supervision feedback to practice. This course prepares students for internship-level responsibilities by developing professional identity and clinical autonomy.
