    A conceptual study of basic astronomy including the night sky as observed from the Earth; apparent and real motions of celestial objects; a short history of the development of theories and tools used in astronomy; the wave and particle theories of light and their application; an overview of the solar system including planets, comets, asteroids, and meteors; and a non-mathematical approach to the nature of stars, stellar evolution, and cosmology.
