This course focuses on new, cutting-edge drama or The English Stage. Coursework will include lecture-discussions, play attendance, master classes with actors and artistic staffs of leading international companies, reflective journals, and field trips.

Students look at the practical demands of being a professional actor, including auditioning for regional theaters and casting directors, the pros and cons of Union affiliation, and how to find an agent. The class features guest speakers from current PTC productions including actors, playwrights, and directors who will share practical advice and anecdotal tips on best professional practices. Prerequisites: Instructor Consent.

    This is a laboratory course in basic computer drafting techniques and designing for the theatre, using Vectorworks and Photoshop software. The aim will be to acquaint the students with techniques used to create two-dimensional designs and technical drawings for theatre applications. Prerequisites: "C" or better in (THEA 1550 OR THEA 1551) OR Instructor Consent.

    This course serves as an advanced acting studio concentrating on scene work that explores more complex dramatic forms, including genres in which language and characterization are particularly demanding and material from plays with an emphasis on individual challenges and problems.     A seminar style class that guides the development and presentation of a student-initiated capstone project under the guidance of a theatre performance faculty advisor. The project may include one or more of the following areas of research: acting, writing, devising, directing or producing of solo or group work. Projects will be presented at the end of the semester. Prerequisite: 'C' or better in THEA 4140 OR Instructor Consent.

    Advanced Stage Combat places an emphasis on the basic skills and tools necessary for the actor whose focus is working in the film, television, gaming, and motion capture industries. On camera work and an introduction to motion capture will be incorporated. Students will have the opportunity to take a Skills Proficiency Test for certification. Prerequisites: "C" or better in THEA 3300 OR Instructor Consent.
